China Cup 2011 Postponed

China Cup in Hainan Island scheduled on March 25th to 27th is to be postponed because of the 2011 Boao Forums will be held a week after. The Chinese government cited that nowhere on Hainan Island will any sport with a firearm be allowed (for safety reasons) from March 15th to April 25th because of the Boao Forums. WPPL-CPPL 2011 starts this weekend

WPPL-CPCL is a "Paintballerz4Paintballerz" league designed for players by players themselves. It utilizes a "Pool Money System" where certain amount of funds collected from team’s Registration Money are given back to the teams in the preliminaries. First to eighth ranked teams will receive their share of money!

The top eight teams will also get to send their best players in a 1-on-1 playoff for the bragging rights. WPPL-CPCL will also have Cyberjaya-Tv and Cyberview Sdn Bhd covering their 2011 league again. Videos edited can be viewed on Cyberjaya-Tv website and YouTube.

For those who are looking for something different, this just might be the tournament for you. This weeks event will held at Sports Arena Cyberjaya. For more info please visit www.wppl.tv.

Due to MPOC having the same tournament in the same weekend only 41 teams registered for this Asia Cup 2011. Regular teams split into two tournaments and the first casualty in 2011 goes to Asia Cup 2011. It was suppose to be the comeback tournament of the original Asia Cup, but it wasn't meant to be. Let's see if next years Asia Cup can restored its pride to its former glory.

No Pro Division in Asia Cup 2011 this weekend

As confirmed by Asia Cup Tournament Director Mr Sofian Daud, there will be NO Pro Division in Asia Cup this weekend. Referring to the official tournament website for the very first time in Asia, they plan to bring in full Pro team roster from World Class International Pro players from Europe and USA. Maybe they'll have more luck next year. Here's some info on the game schedules.

‎ASIA CUP 2011 - Games Schedule. Saturday, 15 January 8.00 am - Semi-Pro at Field No. 1, D2 at Field No. 2 and D4 at Field No. 3 will commence their Preliminary Round Games. D1 at Field No. 1 and D3 at Field No 2 will game on later of the day, after the completion of the morning game of other divisions at the respective fields.

I was hoping to see which Pro Players would be coming. It's always nice to see professionals coming down to Malaysia for tournaments.


Meanwhile in the same weekend, MPOC 2011 kicks off at Padang Bukit Ekspo, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) with more than 70 already registered. This will also be the first time MPOC will have 3 tournament fields set up. Should be a good tournament.

I saw this video last week and thought although this is clearly staged, it is still a cool video nevertheless. Perhaps, with a good script and story - this could be in a movie. :P
