Paintball World Cup Asia by Planet Eclipse [ETV 19]

Here's one by Planet Eclipse on the last year's WCA 2008! Video featuring Raskal, Datis, SWAT and other Eclipse teams.

That reminds me of the Malaysian version (THE WCA 2008 - Debut DVD) suppose to be sale soon after WCA. Has anyone got their copies yet? I believe there were some delay on the production part.

Note: Where in the world is Banstarz? There were rumors that after JB, stuffs went 'stolen' and with it, things that could implicate the home team.

Well, this is NOT a rumour

Those who were at MAPAAC this morning sure were thinking "WTF, what's happening here?" when they say Jr & Soon training with the rest of Team Nemesis. I wasn't around since i had some personal matters to attend to.

Yup, the 3 of us are back with Team Nemesis Legion. As I have commented previously in the Hot Rumour posting, there have been back channel talks between both parties since Day 1 to resolves this issue and when cooler heads prevail, both parties did the right thing by burying the past & moving forward back as a team.

We still have a lot to do as a team, the competition will only get stronger after this. Not only will we have to go against opponents on the field but also those off the field and Yes, the news of  all three of us being back on Nemesis didn’t come well to some. This was evident at MAPAAC today. Well you can’t pleased them all.

A Different Mother’s Day

Of guns and roses on Mother’s Day
By THO XIN YI

IT WAS a sight to behold as dozens of middle-aged women entered the battleground, wearing face masks, and vests and armed with paintball guns.

Among the eager “soldiers” were Datin Seri Jane Ong (wife of MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat), Datin Heng Cheng Leng (wife of MCA secretary-general Datuk Wong Foon Meng), Datin Seri Lee Sun Loo (wife of Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai) and Kelana Jaya MCA chairman-cum-Wanita division chairman Ong Chong Swen.

During the 10-minute battle, they fired paintball bullets at their opponents fiercely, and each team suffered a few casualties.

Upon leaving the battle field, Jane said, “It’s quite exciting and fun!”

The event, aptly named A Different Mother’s Day, was organised by the Kelana Jaya MCA division to enable the women to try their hand at paintball.

Time for action: The guests-of-honour firing their paintball guns to start the event.

A total of 19 teams, with members coming from as far as Ipoh, joined in the fun in the competition held at Subang Jaya.

“The aims of this event include encouraging the women to challenge themselves to do something they normally wouldn’t, celebrating Mother’s Day outdoors with a group of mothers for a change, and cultivating camaraderie among the members,” Chong Swen said.

Addressing the participants, Jane said, “This is my first time playing paintball; my daughter asked me whether I could handle it and I replied, ‘Why not? Age is not a problem.’”

In conjunction with the Mother’s Day celebration, each of the mothers who were present received a small token – a delicate glass rose – that reflected their selfless love for their children.

Note: Looks like they had the event at TT Sports, Subang Jaya. Good exposure on paintball for women, especially politicians! But, notice any safety issues here? Hmmm...

NEMESIS LEGION – THE INSIDE STORY (PART 1)

PART 1 – How To build a Championship winning team like Nemesis Legion

I came to play for Nemesis Legion at the MY-NPL ’07 Finale. They were short of players & I was offered the chance to guest for them. The team was already solid with Hasnata “Boss”,Awe,Mango,Soon,Solo & Jr already part of the team. Played mostly as the 7th guy in the team & the team had decent run finishing 3rd. Played again for them at the Malaysian Super Seven ’07 & after that tourney I was considered as a permanent player with them.

From the outside, being a Nemesis player is what all players dream of being apart of. Hey, what’s there not to love about, you play with among the best pool of players in Malaysia, you play for free, yes FREE. You’ll get all the PB stuff that you need, marker, hopper, jersey, pants etc & not forgetting shoot all you can pallet during training & tourney. You only need to buy your own battery & drink. So what’s there not to love being on Nemesis………huhuhu

Ohhh, I forgot to mention that players also get a cut from the prize money won during tourney. 20% of the money will go to the club fund & the balance 80% will be shared among team members. We bring back home about RM400++ each if we got 1st at MY-NPL events. This was what motivated the players to do their best in every tourney so that at the end of the day, not only will we get the glory of a podium finish but also a decent enough pay day.

Another reason why I believe Nemesis was so successful was because of the strict discipline instil into each player. You cannot smoke during training session & tourney, you can’t be late for training, training is almost every week & it’s a must to be on every training session. We follow these rules almost to the dot & to me it is something that each team should try to follow. Doesn’t necessary mean that you follow as what Nemesis did like no smoking etc but the presence of discipline in the team alone will be a plus to the overall morale & performance. Another up is to have a strong & respected figure that all will look up to & respect and in Nemesis’s case it’s the big boss himself, Hasnata.

Next instalment will be about What really happened the evening after ISSC closing ceremony & what made 1 Nemesis player being sack ,the team captain being fine and reprimanded & 1 more player being reprimanded.

HOT RUMOURS #2

Another rumour that's brewing is that a paintball site situated in the heart of Petaling Jaya is about to be given an eviction notice by the local council. It seems that rental payment for the site has not been made since Day 1 of it opening up for business a few years ago. Due rental amount is closed to RM75k.

The local council plans to make the current site as a multi purpose sport center with futsal being it's main attraction.

So what is to become of the current paintball site where elite players are born.hmmm who knows?anyway, it's still just a rumour...
