blast from the past - Team WK with their hired gun
Well, that’s my question & I hope you guys can give an opinion or two about it.
We are fortunate to have most of the D1 teams playing in MY-NPL under sponsorship either directly or indirectly by major paintball brands & local Vendors. They are expected to carry their sponsors brand be it during tourney or even during training. Sponsors can be very picky & sponsorship can be terminated in an instance just like that eg. By wearing a jersey/t-shirt of a rival brand or using a rivals marker etc could just cost your team the sponsorship.
But how about employing the services of hired guns to play with your team in a tourney or even for all 5 legs of MY-NPL next year? Will your team be in trouble with the sponsors if the hired gun/s is sponsored by a rival brand? Eg. A team under DYE but the hired gun/s is under P.E/SP/JT/MD etc. It won’t be a problem if in this situation the hired guns uses a DM9 & DYE jersey/pants but what if they too have to carry their sponsors name & colours? You’ll be going to have a mix match of players playing under 2 if not 3 different brand of sponsors.
Can you call that team a DYE sponsored team when you’ve got a few players under a different banner/sponsor and to relate back to my title, can you even call the team as “a team” when you employ hired guns to beef up your line up? The proudest moment for a team is when you’re on the podium in your sponsor’s colours & banner but now out of the 10 guys in your line up, 2-3 will be in a rival’s colours. Will your sponsor be happy with it? Will they take any action? Only time will tell, we’ll just have to wait and see come this Feb 14-15 2009 during the 1st leg of MY-NPL cause I believe most D1 team will be facing this dilemma for the ’09 season.

a group of ppl working together towards 1 goal is considered as 'team'. that would be the general definition of it lah..
having a few guests sponsored by rival brands, well that's another story. but IMO, being a sponsored player, both the team & the guest are obligated to seek permission from their sponsors for any guesting activities, or any other activities not related to the sponsors for that matter.
as long as the sponsors agree to it, then it's ok...
anyway, if not mistaken, if a player play for a team for more than 3 tourneys, he's considered as part of the team's season roster, he'd lose the 'guest' status... please do correct me if i'm wrong here.
We(Nemesis) were fortunate to finish the ’08 season with only 1 changes to our line up & that to me helps us bond faster & performed the way we did in ’08 season. ’09 season is a different story. For one we’re short of players. If we can’t recruit new players in time then that’s when the hired guns will play their parts then. But if we win again the Overall Champ for ’09 season, I don’t think I’ll be as proud as I am now since we did it with almost the same line up of since the 1st leg of ’08. People will also say “ ahhh…..boleh la memang sebab import star player” or something like that.Don’t even think our podium group pics gonna be posted on DYE Asia website since we’re a mix match team now…….. that’s my dilemma.
use a teamless or non-sponsored hired gun then, maybe just use them as 'bunnies' while the main 5 do their work.. who knows, u might get the sought-after additional players at the same time.. kira macam audition while guesting la.. but then at the same time, there's a risk of weakening own line-up in the 7-man game, which requires a slight diff strategies & game-plan from 5-man..yeap, it is a dilemma. :-/
as one of the spectators in the upcoming season, i wish u guys all the best lah.. ;-)
Nemesis short of players ke... ehem2! hehehe...
ehem ehem pulok... kaymo, Armada memanggil ko.. hohoho..
ehem.. ehem...! uhuk..uhuk..uhuk..! ;-)
menjunjung menitat yang di titahkan....
well swapping players or exchanging if not an option unless its a profitable.
unless the team is kick mother team who can sponsor all....well why waste time or effort....NPL 2009 D1 is 7 men....put it this way....7 men X 10 port = 70 ports per game....who is the money maker?
hahahahahahahaha sudah tau tak pa aaahhhhhhh...anyway...team yang tak cukup players just turun d2...if not boycott masuk MPOC or lepak at mapacc jadi tukang lap marker n goggle.
7x10pods..? who uses 10pods per game..? even if there is, maybe 1 or 2 players, which most probably the back.. the front would use like 4 or 5 maybe, or 7 the most... so kalau kira yg out cepat tu & yg still alive, everage is 5 per person kot.. i'd say it's more like 30~40 pods per game, everage...
anyway, more players means more pellets used, true enuff.. but then again, the increased budget is also divided among more players - 10 instead of the usual 7, not much diff there i guess...
kherox dilemma is more on the recruiting/selection of additional players instead of budget... i think laa.. kan...?
ni lagi satu bangsat nih...masih nak cakap saper money maker. masih nak politik kan lagi isu-isu mcm nih..woi nak main paintbal tu main la....duit sendiri-sendiri....masih ader perasaan bangsat hasad dengki tuh wat per....ko nak main 10 pod ker...ko punyer pasal. tak payah tunjuk saper yg maney maker....baik MPOC atau NPL tuh hak diaorang. diaorang yg wat duit ker, diaorang yg rugi duit ker, ko ape pedulik...yg ko sebagai money waster tuh atau tak duduk diam-diam atau jadi tukang lap maker mcm kata badman....aku dengar isu saper money maker, saper buat profit, saper untung nih dah bertahun,,,,tak yah la politik kan lagi isu nih....dah pegi main paintball....
"duduk diam-diam atau jadi tukang lap maker mcm kata badman"
slight correction here... i never said that & i never put up a post/comment using name other than my own...
bodoh nye korang ni.....ade orang untung jual palet murah jadi mahal...udah woiii jangan nak kelontong lah politik lah apa lah... sah MAPACC penipu jual palet mahal...
Cerita panas...senag je;;;;; MPOC kena Haram lah...korang tak tau ke!!!s
hebat seh 1 team leh pakai ampai 70 pod per game gila seh rase dia banyak berangn kot jadi rembo tu yg leh guna ampai 70 pod tu wahahhawhahahahhahwhahh
And i wonder why some people doesnt approve of this sport... I thought it was due to the sport, dangerous and extreme, but I was wrong, its the people with blocked mind, harsh languange that portrays their lack of maturity. Profanities at the tip of their finger. To let their child play, and emulate such habits, a big No No to most parents. Congratulations guys.
